Mayor-Elect Helena Moreno Begins Transition Meetings with CAO
Mayor-elect Helena Moreno, her transition team Executive Director Renee Lapeyrolerie and Co-Chair Emily Arata met today with Joseph Threat, Sr., Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Orleans, as part of Moreno’s fast-moving and deliberate transition effort.

“I’m grateful to Joe Threat for his partnership and professionalism as we work to ensure a smooth transition,” said Mayor-elect Helena Moreno. We’re moving quickly and deliberately to gather the information and insights needed to turn our plans into action. My administration will reorganize City Hall to emphasize coordination, maximize efficiency, and deliver operational excellence- all in service of the residents of New Orleans. Even as she leads an aggressive transition schedule, Moreno has been deeply engaged in her role as Vice President of the New Orleans City Council, dedicating considerable time this week to steering the city’s budget process.
“Helena Moreno has made it clear that she will be a 24/7 mayor,” said Renee Lapeyrolerie, Executive Director, New Direction New Orleans. “Her pace this week reflects exactly the kind of leadership she’ll bring to City Hall: urgent, organized, and focused on results.”
